Hey! I'm travelling to Spain this summer, and I'm going to be living with a family there. (A mom, a dad, and two little boys, ages 3 and 5). I want to bring them something from the US (not just like, a necklace or tie, I want to bring something sort of unique to the US, that you can't get in Spain). I don't want to spend too much though.
Since a lot of people are foreigners on here, what would you want as a gift from the US?
Thanks so much!
What gifts from the USA should I take to a family in Spain?
I have lived both in England and America and either way I travel I always bring candy back for my friends. It's cheap and people get a kick out of it.
Try salt water taffy, russell stover chocolate, peanut butter brittle, moon pies... all this stuff is unique to america (but something like snicker bars are everywhere!)
Have fun!!
Reply:Nice handmade portraits or paintings made from photos are always a good gift idea,so have one made from a typically American picture. You can find more such ideas at http://www.paintyourlife.com
They make all types of personalized and unique portraits on oil, pencil, charcoal or on canvas.
This company also has a studio for oil paintings reproductions. In case you are looking for an affordable gift urgently, you can take a look at their 'stock on sale'. Visit http://www.photo-print-on-canvas.com

Reply:Most families appreciate things they can display...something that represents where you are from...a piece of art, or something handmade. (there are shops where they sell things that are from your area.)
Or a photograph of you as a group doing something really fun while you're there, framed (that was someone else's idea, answering a similar question last week - I can't take credit for it, but it's a good one, so I'll include it).
Reply:Be your self as a gift.
all is ""made in china in USA and all around europe you may get something special. for them.
I live in Spain, am mexican, and there is so much things from all over the countries.but all ""made in china."".
Reply:Well u should really put though in what u want to get. Ur right u don't really want to get them a necklace unless its a smaller gift with a gift. First of all I would bring a food dish that is only in the U.S. or a least a recipe. If u really want to get something speacial for them u could get a CD of some one here who sings that u know they don't know so they can listen to some dif music.(unless they don't have Cd players then bring urs andjust play it for them)
