I spend about $250 each on my children at Christmas and for their birthdays we take the family out to dinner and then spend about $100 for their gift. I am not sure how much to spend on my son-in-law in comparison? We do take the family out to dinner on his birthday, but how much to spend on the gifts? I don't want to spend the same, but I feel cheap spending less. Any suggestions?
How much money to spend on my son-in-law's gifts?
Hmmm...I spend the same amount on my son-in-law as I do on my daughter who is married to him...but then I consider him a family member.
Reply:If you show him love and not falseness (no offense) I think that you will start to share a relationship. Maybe he can accept the gift and in return give one to you. Treat him the way you want to be treated 2 wrongs dont make a right. Report It
Reply:I would treat him the way i wanted him to treat my daughter. also think how would you like his parents to treat her, in comparison to how they treat him. I would just do a golden rule. if its obvious your not spending as much on him, it could cause problems in between you and your daughter in the future,
Reply:I don't understand, evidently you don't consider your son in law "one of the family". You should spend the same on him as you do everyone else. You shouldn't slight him, he'll eventually feel it.
