Is it appropriate to give gifts to the lead counterpart on opening night?

I am in a play in the theater. The last show I was in, I gave a small token gift to the counter person, in the role. Just something small and something personal about the show.


Is this still considered to be the norm. Or has this gone by the wayside, and is now tacky?


Any thoughts are appreciated.

Is it appropriate to give gifts to the lead counterpart on opening night?
I always try to bring something relevant to their character as a gift for everyone in cast and crew or I will do thank you cards, some people bring flowers or snacks if they are okay backstage, I think it's a nice gesture to show your appreciation of your fellow performers and artists.
Reply:That's absolutely fine, just as long as you're not a creep about it. It's an appreciation of a fellow artist and fellow person!
