I am trying to find gifts to give to my mother and future mother in law at my rehearsal dinner, but every "typical gift" idea (i.e. handkerchiefs, silver heart shaped lockets, framed poetry, etc.) I'm finding on the net just seems to cheap and lame. What is something classy I can give them that they will actually like? My budget is about 60-75 dollars per gift.
Also, is it okay to give them both the exact samet thing?
What to get mother and mother-in-law for rehearsal dinner gifts?
it depends what they like, but i think every woman loves jewelry , try something classic like pearls, they are not so expensive, and you could get them the same gift, maybe in different shades white or black whats really hot now are chocolate pearls
Reply:I agree with you about the 'typical' gift. My fiance and I had talked about doing a picture collage and having it framed, now when I say collage, not tacky, like with a whole bunch of pictures jammed into the frame. We'd probably have them incorporate some part of the invitation or decoration somehow. Each set of parents would get one. Anyways, we thought this was also a gift where we could 'personalize' the frame according to what parent it is too! There are 3 sets of parents/step-parent.
I hope our idea can help you think of something! Congrats!!
Reply:I got my mom a hanky with a personal poem on it and her name. It wasnt cheap - 55 dollars (because of the embrody) It made her cry because i wrote it myself.
My mother in law didnt get anything because she drove me crazy during the palnning and my hubby didnt mention it. (She tried to change things, actually made appointment for venders we didnt want to use)
Reply:It is OK to get them the same. Find out what their hobbies are and go with that. If one likes gardening throw a basket together with some flower seeds and tools and gloves, or if one likes reading, get a couple books from their favorite author. My mom likes scrabble tournaments, so I am getting her a specially made scrabble board, only about 50 dollars!!
Reply:To the poster above me:
Why should they DEFININTELY receive the same thing?
Weird.
Anyway, check this link out:

Reply:Gifts aren't customary for mother's and not necessary but if you do then they should definitely receive the same thing.
