When Do You Open Christmas Gifts In Your House?

Everyone runs a little bit different. I know of some who do it at midnight on Christmas Eve (when Christmas technically starts), some do it on Christmas morning, and I know some who do it on Christmas evening.

When does your family do gifts together?

When Do You Open Christmas Gifts In Your House?
On Christmas eve morning we each open one present then the whole family gets together at my sisters house for Christmas eve dinner and we open presents there then we visit my husband's family and open a couple gifts then on Chrismas morning we open a bunch of gifts then we go to our church and open some gifts after the play then we stop by my mother in law's and open presents and finally we open presents at my mothers house after Christmas dinner.
Reply:we open one present each on christmas eve and in the morning open the rest... it takes away the suspence from the children and keeps the tradition of christmas morning breakfast and presents
Reply:We do gifts on Christmas Eve after dinner. This started when I was a child, I don't remember doing it any other way. Christmas morning was for Santa's presents. My mom always said that it was because I couldn't wait, but please, I was a child and she was the adult. I think she's the one that couldn't wait.
Reply:We do it once everyone is up, and ready to open presents. Usually around 8ish. I (A 6th grader) Usually wake up around 3 in the morning, so excited. xD
Reply:When I was a kid, we always opened presents on Christmas Eve, we never waited til midnight though, just Christmas Eve. And then we'd go over to my aunt's house and while we were gone Santa always came. :) Then we got to spend all Christmas day playing with our new toys.
Reply:One gift (of my chosing) they can open on Christmas eve...the rest waits until the morning.
Reply:We always open gifts on Christmas Eve. It's just not the same during the day time. Then on Christmas Day, there are the Santa gifts, stockings, and dinner.
Reply:We do it after we get back from my grandma's. We generally get to my gran's about 9 Christmas morning and are there until about 2 in the afternoon, then we get home and open the stuff.
Reply:My kids will get us up at an ungodly early hour on Christmas morning. We will get our coffee and try to wake up a little while the kids bounce off the walls with excitement. Then we will all sit down and open gifts from our immediate family. Later, we will get together with extended family and open more gifts on Christmas afternoon.
Reply:as soon as we get up we go get our stockings, after that we exchange gifts between me, my bro, my sis, and my parents. then we eat breakfast and get stuff up together. and we go to my granny's house. after we eat lunch (which is more like dinner), we exchange gifts between us and my grandparents and 2 aunts and uncle. then we go home around 9 and snuggle with hot chocolate.

then on new years eve we go to my other aunt and uncles house and celebrate with my other grandparents and cousins. i'm 16 and we've been doing that since i was born.
Reply:We open stocking presents when we first wake up, then go to church for an our and when we come back, open main presents. Then on Boxing Day, we visit extended family and open those presents:)
Reply:My family wakes up and opens presents then we drive 30 min. to my dads family and we open more presents then we got an hour and 30 min. drive and open more presents at my moms familys house. its fun for me bc its tradition but people think we r crazy
Reply:the second the kids are up...
Reply:with my immediate family we open then on christmas morning, then the rest of my family comes and we exchange with them later on in the evening.
Reply:The kids get to open there stockings when they wake up

We go to a Christmas church service at 9:30-11:00

dad and kids usually do something fun like go iceskating(thats when santa delievers his gifts) in backyard while the girls make christmas dinner which is around 2:00-2:30

open presents after friends leave open presents with big family 5:30 ish

but are kids each get to pick one gift to open on Christmas Eve
Reply:My birthday is Christmas day, my family opened gifts on Christmas Eve after family dinner, then stockings in the morning, and birthday gifts after Christmas dinner.

After we all grew up, the celebration was on various different days due to work schedules and needs of in-laws. A couple of times it was on New Years!!
Reply:yess...
Reply:Christmas morning. Then my aunt and uncle come over, we exchange those gifts, then we eat a HUGE breakfast. Then we go over my grandparents house and exchange gifts with them and my other aunt and uncle. Then a few days after Christmas, my grandparents from up north come down, and we exchange gifts with them.

Sorry if this is confusing.
Reply:We open gifts in the morning on Christmas Day. We will open one present on Christmas Eve just to sort of get the kids through the night. We have found it helps them fall asleep sooner because they got to have one gift. Then we open presents at the grandparents house when we visit later in the day. But, yeah, everything mainly happens on Christmas Day. Santa has to come on Christmas Eve.. ^.~
Reply:Me and my husband get up at about 8 on christmas morning, and make sure everything is ready. At nine we go wake up the girls. They brush their teeth and I pull there hair back, then they run downstairs to see all these presents under the tree. It takes about an hour to open them all since we did it one by one.
