Do you think Huckabee's willingness to except all gifts large and small is a positive attribute for candidate?

Considering as Governor for Arkansas he claimed approximately $100k worth of gifts given to him and his wife in one year. He registered at Target when he was moving out of his Governor mansion. So are these postive attributes for a person who is seeking the Presidency? Their willingness to receive gifts from anybody.

Do you think Huckabee's willingness to except all gifts large and small is a positive attribute for candidate?
I am becoming very disenchanted with Mr. Huckabee the more his record is examined. To be honest the fact that he registered at Target for gifts pales in comparison with:

1. He won't release his sermons when he was a full-time minister. Isn't that part of the job as a minister to "minister".

2. The Covenant Pledge he signed stating that his wife would be subservient to him.

3. His less than Christian platform toward people with AIDS. Yes this was many years ago but well after medical experts stated that the disease was not transmitted by person to person contact.
Reply:At least he did not "loot" the Governors mansion like the Clinton's did the White House.

And speaking of gifts... how have all of those illegal Chinese men and women afford to give Hillary $2000 in campaign contributions when they earn under $15000 a year....

and you are complaining about declared (legal) gifts.
Reply:just business as usual coming from Arkansas
Reply:Of course. Would you prefer someone who is ungracious enough to refuse them especially when some cannot be converted back onto cash.

As long as he declares them and they are within the rules what's the problem?

Accepting a gift does not have to put someone under any obligation and many are thanks for services past, not bribes in the hope of favors in future.
Reply:Actually Huckabee and his wife received a total of $150 K over the period of 10 1/2 years.

The gifts were from Coca Cola - a plastic canoe worth $ 500.

A stadium blanket worth $ 200. from a co-worker.

The list goes on like this, I read and re-read looking for the smoking gun myself.

But in conclusion, receiving a total of $ 15 K a year is not much for his position.

Bottom line is that people liked him enough to give him gifts and he did the right thing by claiming them.

NO BIGGIE

How do I politely say NO GIFTS on my babys 1st birthday invitations?

We really do not want any gifts at all. She has everything she needs, and simply want people to show up. thanks.

How do I politely say NO GIFTS on my babys 1st birthday invitations?
There is no polite way. Some people say "No Gifts, Your Presence Is All We Need" or something like that, but you shouldn't mention gifts in any way at all on an invitation.
Reply:Recently recieved an invitation that read this:

As _____'s first birthday is finally here,

We're inviting friends and personalized dear.

To choose a favorite story or fairy tale

That you would like her to hear.

Instead of a gift, please let ___ look,

At your special choice of a book.

And then to ____will her mother read

With all the love a child will need.

So with a personal touch, please choose a book

And in it then your name do put.

It need not cost more than a card

Just pick a favorite, it shouldn't be hard!

You could play around with the wording to make it fit like you want it to read.

You could say something about only expecting their prescence instead of presents. Then just verbally put the word out and it will get passed on.

Good luck!
Reply:If you post "No Gifts" in any manner at all, it may be misconstrued that you're expecting cash.

You might say someting like, "We are requesting your company or presence and best wishes only".

That may indicate no gifts without saying it.

My thoughts.
Reply:People will bring what they want her to have.

How about specifying on the invite that all gifts will be donated to a local Children's Hospital. But even if you get something you may like, you have to give it away.
Reply:"Please come and celebrate (child's name)'s first birthday! We will have cake and ice cream (dinner...)

We only ask the gift of your time. Please don't bring boxes and bags of brightly wrapped gifts."
Reply:Don't put it on the invitations - you're not supposed to address the issue of gifts at all on them. You can tell a few people and let them get the word out.
Reply:Tell them in lieu of gifts for your baby they can donate a gift in her name to a local charity or terminally ill kids.
Reply:hmmm how about this after you have all the invite things: PLEASE NO GIFTS! SHE DRIVES US CRAZY WITH THE ONES SHE ALREADY HAS! BESIDES.....WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF SPACE! thank you kindly!
Reply:Please come to ______'s party! Your presence is all the gift she needs!
Reply:say u will donate the gifts or that they could bring money to donate to a charity.
Reply:just state on the invites you just want their company and to please not bring gifts
Reply:not an answer to your question just to say how very classy you are!

How should I design my Christmas gifts?

Hello! I don't have much money for Christmas gifts this year, so I decided to home make them. So far I've decided I'm going to take pictures on a disposable camera, get them developed, and decorate them/make a Christmas frame. Or something like that. Does anyone artistic/creative have any ideas what to do with a photo to make a good present? I'm not good at art like that. Thanks.

How should I design my Christmas gifts?
Anytime I've given a photo as a gift it is either a picture of something dear to me, or to the person receiving, or both. Just keep it simple. Of course u have to be good with the camera to capture a moment, but that's up to you.
Reply:Memorabilia works best. If you can get pictures from the past (family members or relatives from a bygone era), frame them and give them as a gift it will be far better received than something thrown together at the last minute from images captured on a disposable camera.

I need ideas for christmas cracker gifts?

I am making my own christmas crackers and need suggestions on inexpensive gifts to fill them.

I need ideas for christmas cracker gifts?
Depends on how many you are making, and whom for.

For kids, I would suggest: stickers, small erasers, rubber balls, plastic animals, rings, and other age-appropriate things (nothing too small for the little ones).

For teens: gel pens, glow sticks, earrings or bracelet, keyring, pin, stickers, candy, gift card (eg. $5 from Walmart or McDonald's, or wherever they like), phone card for their cell phone, cell phone charms, zipper pull, etc.

For adults you really are limited only by what the person likes.

For the chef, perhaps a mini whisk, spatula or cheese knife. Small packets of food items (eg. hot coacoa or chicken noodle soup).

For the gamer, a gift card for their favorite store, or a brand new cheat code printed on nice paper.

For the animal rights person, perhaps a donation to their favorite charity, or a coupon to donate your time at their charity of choice.

For the crafter, there are lots of bits and bobs at the dollar store that will please them!

Open your mind to options that are not the "norm". Think beyond what is normally in a cracker, and add your own personal twist :D

HTH!!

TDK
Reply:www.orientaltrading.com has a huge selection of items that would fit into crackers.
Reply:well go to walmart in the party aisle they have some cheap stuff. also candy. confetti..small bells, bows, santa cut outs, same with xmas trees, and snowmen, stuff that says merry christmas. or better yet fake snow...
Reply:Christmas Crackers seem to be an English tradition. Crackers were placed on the table next to each plate and each person opened one, on a holiday, birthday or special occassion. Inside you may include paper hats, that roll up, finger puzzles, candy, little whistles, beads, rings, or any little thing you can find at a party store.
Reply:I put in mini alcohol bottles - all recipients are adults; and scratch %26amp; win tickets. Individually wrapped chocolates are good, too. I add a bell so there's festive cheer when the crackers are shaken. A friend of mine has used small christmas ornaments in the past - they were well received by her guests.

If you want longer crackers, cut desired length from paper towel rolls or wrapping paper rolls, instead of limiting yourself to the size of toilet paper rolls.

I am looking for kids gifts that are trendy and unique. Are there any sites that sell cool gifts?

I am tired of giving the same old gifts to the my child's friends at birthday parties and to all my nieces and nephews. Are there any good sites that have personlized gifts?

I am looking for kids gifts that are trendy and unique. Are there any sites that sell cool gifts?
Hi, how about personalized books? Kids love to hear their own name in the storyline. Go to this website http://www.tlc-expressions.com They have lots of titles like Spider-Man, Batman, Ballerina Princess, Little Mermaid, Scooby-Doo, Sesame Street, Noah's Ark, Sports titles and so many more. Check it out - they're very reasonably priced, and make a wonderful, unique %26amp; special gift... It's something they can enjoy now and keep forever!! Good Luck!
Reply:A perfect gift for kids, that is unique, would be a portrait of one of his idols or of a thing he likes most. After getting a photo of such an idol or thing, just send it to http://www.paintyourlife.com. Their professional and creative artists can make very unique and classical-looking portraits or paintings out of otherwise ordinary photos! It is definitely worth a try and does not cost much.

The same company also has a studio for oil paintings reproductions. If you are looking for an affordable gift urgently, you can take a look at their 'stock on sale'. Visit http://www.oil-paintings-reproductions.c...

Is it true that cats bring dead mice/birds into the house as gifts for their owners?

They wouldn`t know any better..

I went outside to find my cat playing with a mouse and preparing to bring it inside.. When he saw me he started meowing and brought it up to me, purring and rubbing against my legs. He seemed very proud of himself. I read somewhere that they bring dead animals as gifts for their owners, but was wondering if there was any solid proof in terms of animal psychology.

Is it true that cats bring dead mice/birds into the house as gifts for their owners?
You are the leader of the pack so to say even though cats are not pack animals. They do this to show you loyalty. Plus if they keep you happy then you will not kick them out.

I have one cat that "Kills" his cat toys all the time and will drag them threw the house and bring them to us. The best thing to do is praise him for the gift pick it up and throw it away. With some cats it is just something they do.
Reply:he/she is either bringing it back as a present as apresation or to keep it to show surpierer or to show u to hunt and how it's done
Reply:Absolutely YES---IT'S TRUE!!! If you have a cat that goes outdoors, and has access to rats, mice, lizards, birds, etc., you might be presented with ANY of these "gifts"! ENJOY!
Reply:I kinda think that's true because my best friend's cat has also brought up a number of things (Mice and birds) to her, and she talks about it all the time...My cat hasn't seriously done a stunt like that, but I think it is true that sometimes, cats WILL bring dead mice and birds to their owner as gifts.
Reply:I heard this, but as far as it being the truth, maybe there is a little truth to it.
Reply:Thats what everyone says! Just like you give your cat love and food, he wants to give you things. He feels proud about catching it and wants you to be true. My yorkshire terrier did it aswell, a dog! I hate it when they catch birds but mice are ok, atleast those things are removed!Just pet your cat when he gives it to you, act like tou like it, lol.
Reply:Actually yes. They see you as their provider. I don't know about solid proof, but it's been said in the cat books and magazines for years. Whether we think it's an appropriate gift or not, they do, and certainly ARE proud of themselves!

(I actually just had my cat get ahold of my pet gerbil the other day...she was rather proud of herself, until she realized I wasn't happy in the slightest with her... I think she heard me threaten to send her away, because she seemed miserable the rest of the day.)
Reply:ooooh im a question stalker!!

tehe
Reply:they werent bringing it as a gift. they wanted to keep it for themselves. cats dont recognize..ownership.
Reply:Its not really a "gift" per se. It goes back to when their mamma cat brought them food. They think they are providing for their family in a way. We always praise our cat and leave it out for her to finish off how she likes, otherwise, she will leave it for us to do what we want with it and that just doesn't fly with me:))

Both of my cats killed a mouse the other day in my house and brought it right up to me in the kitchen (GROSS). I told them "good kitties" and left and when I came back, it was gone :)
Reply:No as gifts but as their contribution to the food supply of the "pride" which includes the human members. .
Reply:Omg mine did from Gopher heads from small rodents it like see mom I'm a good hunter here breakfast lol
Reply:yes. it is to be a gift to their owners
Reply:yes-my cat used to bring squirrels. Thanks Church-I miss you.
Reply:yes they love bringing presents wait till you get a frog brought in
Reply:Yes, absolutely.

It's either showing off (Because they think it will impress you) or "providing for you" in the same way a mother cat brings prey to her kittens to feed them.

Not sure which, but it is definitelly very common behavior.
Reply:Yes it is true

So nice of your cat
Reply:My cat just brought a bird in for me and him to check out. The problem is, it wasn't dead. It flew all over the house and he chased it, knocking all my stuff of the tables and so forth. It was crazy. I'm not so sure he came to bring it to me, but he did bring it inside.

What can I make for Christmas gifts?

For Christmas, my best friend and I have decided to make each other Christmas gifts rather than buy them. We're both in our late teens. I'm quite arty and can do most crafts. Does anyone have any suggestions?

How about make an album for her....scrapbook some photos of you two..write comments...and memories...stuff like that.

Or you could make her a easy tie quilt. Where you get two types of fabrics...cut the ends into strips....then tie the strips together.

Go to any craft store, they have tons of suggestions for any level of skill.

Have fun....homemade gifts are the best kind!!!!
Reply:my favorite are 6 panel origami boxes...i personalize each panel before i fold it up (basically inside jokes and stuff) and when the box is finished i stuff it with hershey kisses...cus who doesnt love those right?
Reply:If you have alot of pictures of one another, get a medium sized plain hat box(round if you can find it), glue your pictures all over it, then use Elmer's school glue and cover the entire thing (it will dry clear). My mom made me one of these covered in my son's pics, I absolutely love it!! This box will be good for small keepsakes for years to come. Good Luck!!
Reply:Decorate the edges of a picture frame. It could be both attractive and practical. Every time they looked at a picture in your gift, they'd be reminded of the thoughtful gift you made them.
Reply:i would make a scrap book of pictures and memories of your life a friends so far.like a this is OUR life
Reply:make your own candles
Reply:scrapbooks of your fav pics. but be careful it is soooo addicting.
Reply:a card and mayb a cd.
Reply:Take an old hardcover book and create a book safe for either stashing cash or even an iPod. See instructions at http://www.instructables.com/id/EZDZ0WAM...

Creative!
Reply:Scrap books, or photo albums.
Reply:A Christmas box stuffed full of fun things. The outside and inside of the box could be your own design in what ever material you choose to use.

Things to put:

A photograph of you both to remind you of some thing you did together.

A small item of jewellery made by you earrings

Some of those ballistic you put into a bath that smell like heaven

A necklace made out of wine gums which she can eat

A small pin badge that says something

Fridge Magnet

Torch very useful

If she likes to read a beautiful book mark or book vouchers

Something spiritual (not a ghost)

Or just a whole load of jokey things

Shrek Ears

A fairy wand

False nose

There are thousand of things and as you know her better than anyone else you will know her likes and dislikes

Have fun and let your imagination have a ball.
Reply:of course it depends on what you are into. One of my favorite things to make is theme purses. there is a certain liquid that you can transfer pictures from paper to fabric, and the last one I made3 I prined out a bunch of black and white pictures from the movie Rocky Horror, and one color picture for the center and it turned out really cool.
Reply:CDs, scrapbook, mini book/short story, scarf, sweater, embroried jeans.
Reply:You could make your friend a christmas page for their scrapbook. At the moment i'm into making jewellery and they make great gifts! You can get supplies from most craft stores these days, for a gift I usually make a necklace with a matching bracelet and earings. xx
Reply:Do you crochet? I have always gotten very positive responses from every afghan I have ever given as a gift. With all the new yarns available, afghans no longer look like granny-crafts. A poncho would be another alternative. If you know how to do many crafts, how about making her a jewelry box from a plain craft store box and decoupaging meaningful pictures and photocopies on it to make it very personal then line the inside with satin or velvet. Maybe even install a musical movement with a favorite melody. If she has her own place and needs dishes, you could go to one of those paint your own ceramics places and design a set of hand painted dishes or if that is too expensive, you could make her a personal mug and snack plate and perhaps a tea pot. Lastly, you might want to make a jewelry set to match one of her favorite outfits or in her favorite colors. Whatever you decide to make, the gifts will be remembered long after they have worn out....your idea is lovely and thoughtful. Good luck!

Can I use my Abercrombie discount to purchase gifts?

Am I allowed to use my Abercrombie discount to buy gifts? Like would they allow me to buy mens' clothing for my boyfriend? What about gift cards? Thanks!

Can I use my Abercrombie discount to purchase gifts?
I doubt you can use your discount for gift cards, but you should be able to use it for any clothes you want. You'd have to check with them, though.

What are some good, homemade gifts that i can make that look like I bought them?

Just for christmas gifts and stuff. I am 13 and can't buy stuff without someone knowing and i want to give them to my family!

What are some good, homemade gifts that i can make that look like I bought them?
baking is always nice. Don't worry about trying to make it look store bought homemade is great. Dollar store can be a great source for some supplies. Don't forget people probably would love something with a picture of you on it.

http://www.make-stuff.com/recycling/inde...

the key is to take a simple idea and make it special.

Merry Christmas.
Reply:A bouquet of flowers is always nice.
Reply:Hi Rebecca!

You can make a nice pen and pencil holder out of a large tomatoe can or something like that. use colored paper and decortate with photos or whatever you lke. mom or dad would appreciate that.
Reply:Handmade gifts are really special for family members. A poem, a photo in a hand painted frame, an essay of how you feel about each member (good stuff only since it's Christmas), little squares of paper on which you write chores or favors you will do for them as a gift...Merry Christmas
Reply:Why not gather some photos that aren't in albums, and make a collage? You would only need to buy some rubber cement and a sheet of foam-core board, which is sturdy enough that you won't need to frame it. If you have siblings, you could try to enlist their help and make it a gift from all the kids to your parents. Another option is just hand-making all of the christmas cards. The cards themselves would be a great gift! Look up different short poems, and hand-write them in the cards, and decorate with photos.
Reply:Can you crochet? You could make scarves out of the fun, fuzzy yarn (but use a standard yarn with it - two strands at once - makes it easier to find your stitches).
Reply:You can make those jars that have all the ingredients for cookies ( sugar, choclate chip..etc). Just wrap it and use pretty x-mas ribbons!
Reply:When I was a kid my sister and I used to make Christmas ORNAMENTS using pictures of our family members.

Here’s what you will need:

1.pictures of your loved ones

2.colored construction paper

3.glue

4.glitter

5.scissors

6.string

You will need to cut the desired shape of the ornament. (star, square, circle, triangle) and make sure you cut another whole in the center to place the picture inside. Decorate with glitter, punch a hole at the top of the ornament and tie the string to it and last but not least glue your picture to the ornament and TA DA you have your self a nice home made gift.
Reply:I won’t take credit for finding this, but a gal answered one of my questions with this suggestion – check it out, you could easily make these for your family……

How old is too old to expect Christmas gifts but not give any in return?

All these teenagers conjuring up extensive lists of namebrand items and complaining when their Christmas loot didn't include every last thing they lusted for - it got me thinking. I know parents and immediate family members don't expect a gift when kids are young, but at what point is it just considered immature and thoughtless to expect hefty gifts without giving to others in return?

Merry Christmas, everyone!!

How old is too old to expect Christmas gifts but not give any in return?
I started giving christmas presents when i was officially a teen, a few christmases ago. I don't buy wicked expensive ones, but special, little things that people always enjoy, like soap or something for a collection they have.
Reply:My kids have always made or bought a gift for me ever since they started school. My eleven year old has her own business and makes plenty of money. When she didn't make her own money, she made me presents.
Reply:Sickening how greedy people are these days.

I would say once you get a job. But then again it also looks bad being 23, in college and cant get even your parents a christmas gift.
Reply:Whenever you get a job.

people should understand students are broke

they shouldn't expect gifts though
Reply:I say when you get a job because that's kind of rude to expect gifts from someone who has no way to pay for them.
Reply:I don't like the way you said "All these teenagers...".

I'm 18 and I wouldn't care if I didn't get namebrand expensive gifts...actually...I didn't ...and I'm just fine. I had a wonderful Christmas just being with my family and friends.

That said....I have always got something for my parents...no matter how small....

But....I would say around 13 or 14....and it also depends on budget and attitude.
Reply:I'd say that it would be nice if everyone who got a gift were to give one,but I know that gets expensive. It would be nice if teenagers would at least do something thoughtful for Christmas(It doesn't have to cost money).I'd say that by the age of 16yrs. old teens should try to do something anything thoughtful for gifts, however if they are unable to that is okay as long as they are thankful for what they get.
Reply:I guess if you have a job.

I mean you cant expect something from someone that doesnt have any money to buy it.

Like, im 13 and i couldnt get presents for lots of people i wanted to get for because i dont really have any money.

But i got some today=)

Merry Christmas!

What should I buy or make for birthday gifts?

I know this may sound rather odd, but I try to plan financially everything I do a year in advance in hopes to avoid any surprises in my checkbook. Anyways, what should I buy or make for people next year for their birthdays? I preferably want to give them a homemade gift (what are some creative ideas for homemade birthday gifts?), but if that's tasteless I'm open to almost anything.

My best friend will turn 44 years old

My brother, his girlfriend, and a friend will turn 19

Important friends will turn 21, 23, and 24

My boyfriend will turn 27

A dear male friend who's in prison will turn 23 yrs. old

A brother will turn 50 and a sister will turn 40.

My important nieces and nephews between 2-15

Daddy will turn 75 (my mom is deceased)

My other siblings and friends will receive birthday cards.

Thank you in advance as I greatly appreciate your input and advice.

What should I buy or make for birthday gifts?
Wow, organization like that is amazing (if a little scary). Only you know your friends, and your talents (some people should never bake anything for anyone), so suggestions really might not be so good.

For those that like them, how about candles? They are easy to make, all you need is some wax (even from old candles), crayons for color, string (dipped in the hot wax, curled around a pencil on one end, weighted with a coin for the bottom of the candle), scent (or unscented - some people like candles but gag @ the smell), maybe one of their favorites (can get samples sometimes, but oils work best), and a quart or half gallon waxed paper juice or milk carton. This also should prob be done in one of those disposable foil pans.

Melt the wax, adding the crayons, scent (or not). Stir. Cut off the top of the carton where it starts to fold, so that you have just the square. Rest the pencil with the string (wick) on top (the weighted end should be at the bottom of the carton. Pour a little wax in to fix the wick in place in the center of the carton. Give it a little time to solidify (about 20 min-1/2 hr. Stick the whole thing in the fridge or freezer if you want to move it along more quickly).

Get some ice cubes from the tray and fill the carton with them. Stir the wax again (the wax should be hot enough to pour). Then pour it into the carton over the ice cubes. Let it cool %26amp; set (give it a couple hrs minumum, overnight is best, or do the fridge thing. You don't want to stick this in the freezer or the water in the carton will re-ice). Peel away the carton.

The ice will have created pockets in the candle and it looks pretty cool, certainly not like a factory candle.

For your friend in prison, baked goods sound like the way to go, perhaps lots of cookies he can share. Or a cd?

Ok, I'm off to finish my Christmas shopping for this year, half of which is still undone!

Have any ideas for homemade gifts to make and give?

Although it's far off, I like to think about Christmas very much in advance. I'm just looking for craft ideas that make good gifts. I'll need ideas for both children and adults. Thanks a bunch!

Have any ideas for homemade gifts to make and give?
One year, we made Soup in a Jar and Cookies in a Jar, both of which went over very well, especially for adults. My suggestion is to assemble the jar, then try making the recipe. If it turns out well, it's worth making more as gifts.

You can also experiment with homemade soaps. Do fancier ones with herbs or oatmeal and such for adults, and for the kids, you can embed small toys in blocks of clear glycerine.

There are TONS of ideas on this website.

Reply:This is kind of cool:

Take an old picture frame that the backs maybe falling off of , and the glass is missing, paint it, glue screening behind it. Just the regular window screen will work, spray the whole thing with a glitter frost. In some sort of whitish paint write Snowflakes 5c, or some other cute phrase that you think of with winter. Then make some snowflakes from paper pulp, and hang those from wires that are connected to the corner of the frame. What you get is a cute old time looking gift that is reusable, homemade, and people go crazy over them. The cool thing is, they're inexpensive to make, and don't take that much time.

It's never to early for planning hand crafted items - and the more time the better! Here's something that I've been doing - I get brown paper mache boxes when they're on discount at places like Hobby Lobby or Michaels, and then I paint and decorate them with nice papers, ribbons, glass gems and other similar items, line them with embossed felt or silk fabric remnants, and use those to give little trinkets like earrings or other jewelry, that I've also make sometimes. When I gave some gifts in those boxes last Christmas, the people who got them really liked them. If you look for my yahoo group - artist_pw - I put a snapshot of one of those boxes on the home page if you want to see one.

You can also make cool little fabric beads out of remnants of fabric. I first saw a project like this in the Winter 2002 Belle Armoire magazine a few years ago, and I have a lot of bits of raw silk from making mats for pastels paintings that I can use to make beads like this. You can use coffee stirrers as the center of the fabric bead, and then roll the fabric strips up to over them make small beads - and then use fabric glue to hold - I think you could also use liquid polymer clay and bake or heat them (particularly silk, because it can really take the heat). Then you can embellish further with wires, seed beads or other fibers like yarns. You can use these fabric beads in jewelry. Unfortunately, this issue is sold out in the back orders, but there is a photo you can see there to see what those look like. This magazine is really cool, and almost every item in it is scoped out in a project that you could try. At the very least, it may give you some inspirations for your own delightful projects. These items are probably more adult oriented, but some kids might like some of the items, too.

One thing I saw somewhere that I might make for a young boy of about 6 or 7 is a felted wizard hat. I thought that would be pretty cool, and with all the Harry-Potterish stuff around, I thought it might be a good gift. I'd probably knit the base of dark purplish blue wool yarn (or add fabric paint to make it the color I'd want), then wet felt it, and then get yellow wool rovings to needle felt stars and moons on it, and maybe add further embellishments. I also thought about felting a lion's head or head gear, but I thought the wizard hat might be better. Anyway, let me know if you want some more ideas - I have a lot of them, but never the time to make them all. Hope this helps.

What are the gifts in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl?

What gifts are there? I know about the event gifts, but what other gifts do you get? And if you can, anyone know the event dates?

What are the gifts in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl?
There are about 2 or 3 events. I do not know the dates, but I knw what they are.

Event 1- you can do this just by buying Pokemon rangers. You have to type in the code for the ranger net, and then you transfer the egg to your Pearl/ Diamond game.

Event 2- A pokemon event held somewhere, and you pay or something. You will get Darkrai, who is supposed to appear in the locked hotel in Canalave.

Event 3- You have to go to the pokemon event, and ten you pay or soemthing =/ Then they'll give you a letter that is supposed to get to Prof. Oak. He'll be standing somewhere by a white rock in a route, and then he'll do something, and you'll get access to a place with lots of flowers where Shaymin can be found.

Event 4- You go to the pokemon event, pay, and get an item called 'Heaven's Pipe.' Go to the place you caught Dialga/ Palkia, and then use the pipe on that weird symbol. You'll have to go up a bunch of stairs, but you'll eventually get to it.

I know all this because I LOVE spoilers. I browse all my favorite pokemon sites for this crap. I don't know the dates of the pokemon events though. I'm looking for those.
Reply:I think that the only other gift you can get is a manaphy egg from Pokemon Ranger. And its the game pokemon ranger not an actual pokemon ranger. Once you transfer it a man in a green suit will be in any pokemart to give the egg to you. mines only lv. 12 :(
Reply:i think they come in june or october 2007, idk.,sorry.

What are so inexpensive gifts that men will actually enjoy?

I'm pregnant and my daughter is due Nov 29th. I want to get all my Christmas shopping done ahead of time so I don't have to shop with a newborn or shop the day after Thanksgiving and end up in labor at a store. :p

Shopping for women is easy, but what do men like? I need cheap gifts for a 14 year old, an 18 year old, a 40 year old, a 45 year old, a 60 year year old, and a 67 year old.

Lots of people, and I don't have too much money to spend. What do men like at various ages? I don't want to get something junky, but something small that they would actually enjoy.

What are so inexpensive gifts that men will actually enjoy?
Don't overlook subscriptions to magazines of interest to them. It's difficult not knowing what their interests are, but if the boys are into model cars or planes they're reasonable and fun. If any of the men like to fiddle around in the shop or garage building or fixing things a box of basic paper towels, wd-40,hand washing cream, shop towels is always a great gift. If the 18 y/o has a car, car wash, wax and such is a good gift.
Reply:Hey,

I got my 19yo brother an anti-fog shaving mirror ($35) the other day from http://ww.dadshop.com.au

they had heaps of good stuff for for men. I got it really fast too!!!

Reply:guys are very practical. i always enjoy getting a good wallet. it doesn't have to be expensive as long as it's durable.
Reply:I bought Swiss army knifes for men last Christmas they sell them at target pretty reasonable something they could hang on to forever, but not sure how safe it is for everyone they make great gifts and serve as many purposes, depending on options look them up on line.

Where can I find metal bookmarks in bulk so that I can engrave and personalize them to give as gifts?

This is for the soon to come Holiday season to give away as gifts to teachers, bus drivers, Doctors etc. Any suggestions where to find rectangular metal bookmarks (blank or otherwise) and what type of engraving tool is to be used in order to personalize will be greatly appreciated.

Where can I find metal bookmarks in bulk so that I can engrave and personalize them to give as gifts?
I did a search and found this. You might be able to order them blank as seen in the picture. I searched under "wholesale engravable bookmarks" also try "promotional"

What happens to gifts to heads of state?

What happens to gifts to heads of state? Must the recipients claim the items as taxable income? Is there a limit to the amount spent? What are the guidelines in the case of the U.S. President? Thank you!

What happens to gifts to heads of state?
There are two kinds of gifts to the head of states. 1. a personal gift to the Presidents or prime ministers, which are considered as personal and can be kept privately. 2. there are gifts which are considered "official" gifts, which is a gift to the country or state. These gifts are considered public property and should be turned over to the state.

Usually, gifts are not taxable income. the amount to be spent are limited, depending on the funds that are available for these purpose. Usually these fund are not divulged except to the state auditor.

Does anyone know where in Bangkok where you can buy personalised bestman and bridesmaid gifts?

I am getting married in Koh Samui next month and wanting to buy a nice gift for my best man. I live in Bangkok and would like to buy a personalised beer mug etc. Any idea and also nice gifts for bridesmaids.

Does anyone know where in Bangkok where you can buy personalised bestman and bridesmaid gifts?
You should be buying your best man something a little better then what they sell at JJ's or MBK. Go to one Central World or Paragon and look for something more fittiing.
Reply:I would check MBK out. MBK is pretty close to a Skytrain stop and easy to get to. That place offers all sorts of services, perhaps they can personalize a beer stein.

You could check out a Robinson store or Lotus Tesco and see if their service department can guide you in personalizing a beer mug. I know that I have seen them but I can't remember where???

You might want to ask your intended bride what would be a good idea for the bridesmaids! Women are funny, you give a guy a beer mug and he will say thanks, give a woman a beer mug and you might end up getting hit with it! Small decisions where you can get your a$$ in a bind let the woman make the decision! And you can take that to the bank!

Good luck

What is the proper time after graduation to send thank you cards for gifts?

I will be graduating from college in 2 weeks. (YEA!!!) I have received some beautiful gifts from friends and family and wondered when the proper time would be to send a thank you card for the gift?

What is the proper time after graduation to send thank you cards for gifts?
generally speaking, you should send the thank you card out within a week or so of receiving the gift. That lets the sender know that you have received what they sent to you and also speaks well of your manners.

however, if you are a bit late in sending them, remember the most important thing is that you DO express thanks for what has been given to you in a timely fashion as your circumstances dictate.

Congratulations upon your graduation.
Reply:proper manners (etiquette) dictates that YOU send out your thank you cards immediately!

whatever the occassion maybe! it doesn't matter that its a graduation, baby shower, wedding, bar mitzvah, etc... Report It

Reply:Congrats to you! Great question. The answer is: Send a thank you note as soon as you can after receiving a gift. So, if you have been given gifts and graduation day is not here yet, go ahead and send the note if you can get the time to do so. It is important to send the notes of gratitude as soon as you can. This is to show others how special the thoughtful gift or gesture was to you. If you wait too long, then they will start to think that maybe you did not like the gift or you are not being appreciative. It is best to send a Thank You note in the following two weeks after receiving a gift. The longer you wait, the harder it is to take the effort to write and send it.
Reply:Congratulations! You should send those thank you's out ASAP. Make it a priority. It lets the person know that you appreciate them taking the time out of their lives to think of a thoughtful gift for you. It would be so rude of you not to acknowledge their gifts in a timely fashion.
Reply:there's no expected/set time for grad thank you cards unlike wedding thank you's so pretty much just whenever you want
Reply:Sooner is better than later, and later is better than never.
Reply:try to send them out right away, within a week or so, that way its not always hanging over you and you wont forget.
Reply:as soon as you receive the gift and make a list so you know who you sent one to, do it before you forget!
Reply:As soon as possible!

How much money are you going to spend on Christmas gifts? And are you a male or a female?

I'm doing a research project for my stats class and would like to know how much money males versus females spend on Christmas gifts!

How much money are you going to spend on Christmas gifts? And are you a male or a female?
I am a single mom so have to be careful with my money but I usually spend about 400-500 on Christmas shopping. I would suggest including peoples economic demographics in your research project. If I made more money I would spend a lot more...
Reply:I'm a female, who will be spending around 8 or 9 hundred dollars on 5 people. Hope this helps... and Happy Holidays...............................
Reply:male and spend 30 dollars on my entire family
Reply:ill probally be spending about 290 on my gifts for people for christmas. I am female
Reply:This year it should be around $1500. I am a single father with only one income for the house hold so I can't spend too much. I have two sons that I have full custody of. Each year I try to make things a liitle different or better then the previous year.

What are some unique ways to present gifts for a gift exchange?

My brother in law always has amazing, unique ways of presenting gifts. Last year, he froze the gift in a bucket of water. When his recipient unwrapped his gift it was an ice pick. He had to chisel out the actual gift. The year before he bought 500 envelopes, placed a gift card in one, sealed them all. Then nailed them in a wooden box. We have done scavenger hunts as well. I really need to get him this year! PLEASE HELP!

What are some unique ways to present gifts for a gift exchange?
Take walnuts and carefully crack them open, empty the nut out of them, then insert money or small gifts, glue the nuts back together, and give them as a gift. You can put them in a nice container with the tools to crack them open, if you wish.
Reply:Those are pretty clever ideas. You could put the gift in a full garbage can (gross, though), hide it in a box of washing powder (powdered laundry detergent), put it at the bottom of a swimming pool. In winter, that would be mean!

:-)
Reply:Buy him a gift card, then buy ten plants. Bury his gift

in one of the plants. Hand him spade. Of course he'll have to locate the plants hidden somewhere in the backyard? In order to locate the correct plants he'll have to solve clues which will lead him to all of the plants.
Reply:You could do a MASSIVE box full of foam peanuts that he has to dig through, and then not even have the gift in it. lol

How often do companies use promotioanl gifts and what for? Is it clients, propsective customers?

Is there any research pointing to the success of using them. What is the promotional gift market worth in UK and how many suppliers are there? Need lots of case studies and examples of usage of such gifts and the kind of budgets companies have for them.

Thanks.

Are you obligated to give gifts to children in your child's class on their birthday?

My daughter is in preschool and they celebrate everything! Every child's birthday is celebrated in class. Being new to this I'm not sure the proper procedure for gifts. Are you obligated to give a gift even if the child doesn't have a party outside of school? We have missed several already and I didn't even give it a second thought until now. My child's birthday is coming up soon and I want to make sure I haven't screwed things up for her. We are planning on having a party and inviting the entire class but not all the children who have had past birthdays invited her to a party. What is the proper procedure these days? Help!

Are you obligated to give gifts to children in your child's class on their birthday?
No, you are not obligated to give a birthday gift to the children in your daughter's preschool class. All birthdays are celebrated in the classroom by the students and teachers. Sometimes parents may be asked to bring cupcakes for the class celebration.
Reply:I wouldn't think that if they have a party given in the preschool that you would be obligated to send a specific gift. If it is your child's regular day at school, they are going there anyway... You haven't been invited to anything, and you aren't doing anything out of the norm- how are you to know that it is another child's birthday in the class? If the parents invite you to a party outside of the school setting, then, yes, you should bring a gift. But a party that just happens to take place during the school day- no, you should not bring a gift. Most likely, the parents have arranged with the teacher what they are bringing, and the teaching staff will provide the child with a small gift from the teachers and children. You don't have to give a gift for each child in the class every time there is a party... you'll be broke!
Reply:No!

You are never obligated when it comes to giving. And I really think that it is important to teach your child what's important and that's friendship not superficial things like gifts. At this point in your child's life most of his or her friends are their classmates. I think the easiest thing to give is Birthday cards with a couple of Dollars or maybe a MC Donald's gift certificate. Good Luck!!
Reply:no you do no thave to give bithday gifts they just celebrate birhtdays in class by having cup cakes for everyone and the teacher brings them. So no you are doing fine. If your child was invited to one OUTSIDE of class then yes of course bring a present but not if it is a school thing the teacher would then bring in cake or cupcakes things like that.
Reply:I wouldn't think that it's required. I certainly wouldn't feel obligated unless my child was invited to their birthday party with thrown by the parents and the child on there own. Otherwise I would think it's kind of extreme. I wouldn't worry about whether it's been ruined or not, the parents should recognize that it's an involuntary party, and therefore the presents aren't required because if that were the case the school would practically be forcing you to spend money which isn't appropriate by any means.
Reply:I think you did the right thing. Unless there was a party that your child went to, no presents were needed for class parties. As for a party, I'd only invite your child's friends. My kids go to a private sitter. While there are only a few kids there, I don't really know the other parents well enough to have them bring their kid and a gift to a party for my son. That's just me.
Reply:I use to take cupcakes for the whole class as my suprise to her. I thought it was nice.
Reply:For my son's 4th birthday I invited the whole class and only about a third showed up.So I'd suggest you invite everyone. As for buying a gift for a child in her class where she didnt even get an invite to the party is ridiculos dont do it. Its setting a very expensive precedent and it wont be happening in big school.
Reply:only if they're close friends and you attend a party outside of school. :)
Reply:No. You don't have to invite the whole class to the party, either.

The class celebration is not a party, and at most a parent can bring some snacks, cookies, etc. for all the kids involved.

The party at your house is for your child to invite her friends. Then, they are expected to bring presents. Inviting everybody wouldn't be nice: it's like demanding them to bring a present, even if they didn't invite your daughter to their party (meaning your daughter didn't give them presents).

Hope it helps.
Reply:No,only if you want to.If you decide to go to the dollar store .
Reply:If your child goes to a childs birthday party...YES you send a gift! That does not include in Class "party". Either invite all the Children or all the girls, anything else is just cruel
Reply:No, you don't send a gift for a school party.
Reply:I have no idea where you live, or what customs are in your local area.

My strongest advice is to ask your friends or relationships who have or have had children around the same age as your daughter. Don't leave something as important as this to a bunch of Yahooligans!
Reply:I am a PreSchool Teacher. NO! No presents are necessary. Giving presents to one child and not all of them creates problems in the classroom. Children feel left out, insecure, they will act out negative behavior and of course try to steal the present. NOT A GOOD IDEA.

Only if child has a party and you are invited, then by all means, bring a gift.
Reply:No one is ever obligated to give any one a gift!

Gifts have to do with relationships, not because someone is standing there. I think it would be improper for the school to support children bringing gifts for class birthday parties! What happens for the children who have birthdays on the days school is not in session?

As for a party in your home, I suggest that you send the invitation to the parent. If it is to be for the child's class, how will you get in touch with all of the parents? How will you get names and addresses? Or, are you going to trust the children to take your invitation to their parents.

How to answer your friends / colleagues when you don't buy them gifts after holiday / work mission?

Hello All,

Everytime when I depart to other city or country, my company's colleagues always ask for gifts or small presents for them. As you know that we work for company and earn salary, how can we afford them everytime gifts. This is really upset me. I do not know how to answer them in a good way and not dissapoint them and must let them know i'm not petty but this is a matter of money. Thanks all.

How to answer your friends / colleagues when you don't buy them gifts after holiday / work mission?
Just tell them you didn't buy anything

Neither apologise nor explain
Reply:buy them all something really horrible next time you go which you know everyone will hate by be too polite to tell you - then they won't ask again!
Reply:Wow! That's pretty ballsey, ASKING for gifts!! Bad manners on their part should not be a cause for distress on yours!

The next time they ask you to bring something back, just smile and say, "Why, of course, if I have time to shop, I'd be happy to pick something up for you. Just drop your money off at my desk before I leave, and I'll bring you the change and a receipt."

If I went abroad or someplace interesting for a vacation, I'd usually bring back a little something for the office -- i.e., a trip to Switzerland meant a modest box of Swiss chocolates in the employee break-room. But it was a small office -- that would probably not work for a larger office.
Reply:OOOhhh... You have very good colleagues, they ask for gift everytime ? Really a problem. Your polite answer may be like this :'

"Oh, yes, I'll ask the Co. to arrange gifts for you..Ok ..."

Thanks
Reply:First of all, it's rude of them to expect gifts and ask you for them in the first place!! It's understandable if they want something, ask you to bring it back for them and then pay you.. but not to expect free gifts everytime. I think I would politely tell them that bringing back gifts everytime is becoming too costly and that you would be happy to do it for them if they would like to pick up the tab. Some people just like things from other countries, understandable, but they shouldn't expect it for free. Best Wishes!
Reply:wow i so understand first off dont ya think it realy rude to put you on the spot like that i wouldnt be to concerned about this if you cant aford it dont do it just say bluntly you cant aford it remeber the famliy comes first may be you should remind them of that
Reply:Just tell them I am going on holiday to have fun and shopping for souveniers is not fun. Or tell them I am going to work and wont have time for shopping, Sorry.
Reply:I agree with the 1st answer. I get the same question. I just say "no, sorry" in an active voice /assertive tone and I drop it. Some people understand that giving them any kind of explanation would mean you wanted to give gifts, but could not. So you are feeling guilty and trying to explain the reason behind the guilt.

Eventually, they will stop. For me, it stopped after 3-4 times.
Reply:okay,u tell them gifts choice will be urs,if they r ur true friends they will accept from choclate to a minute things.
Reply:Say " I regret that I was unable to do so, but I was short of funds for the trip."
Reply:Just say, "no, sorry" and drop it.
Reply:ur friends/colleagues are terrible. If u r in a work mission, tell them u r busy in working all the journey n no time to buy them gifts. If u r going to travel, tell them nothing about it. U hv the right to keep it as a secret, don't u? haha...
Reply:I can't imagine anyone asking you to bring them back a gift. Best thing I can suggest is that you tell them you'll be living on per diem while you're travelling and it doesn't afford shopping unless they provide funds up front.
Reply:can't you make a gift of some sort...otherwise just tell them your budget does'nt allow you the luxury of having enough to buy presents.
Reply:just say you didnt have the time.you do go for work right???there you go perfect excuse.you shouldnt feel bad.you dont go away just to get them gifts.
Reply:sorry, i should have sent a card but gifts are for kids.
Reply:This is a business trip and I won't be buying souvenirs.

This is a relaxation holiday a break for me I won't be buying any souvenirs, just getting some sun and some fancy drinks. I'll think of you when I'm there.

Why do women always want to buy gifts for their soldier?

Im not knocking gift buying.

But why do women, always want to buy gifts for everything?

We see the question in here all the time.

What to buy someone graduating Basic/Boot.

What to buy someone graduating AIT.

What to buy someone deploying.

What to buy someone coming back from deployment.

Is it, because, you find yourself in a situation where you have no control over whats happening, and it lets you assume some sort of control and makes you fell involved ?

I look at it from the male perspective, and I can't see buying someone a gift for those occassions, beside flowers when she came home.

Im just trying to get some insight into the female mind.

Help me out here, please.

Why do women always want to buy gifts for their soldier?
I gave my husband a gift after he graduated from boot camp and from A school. I love to give him lil gifts. It is just a way of showing i care for him. He does the same thing for me. Its jst a way of showing some 1 that you care and love them, thats all.
Reply:Because we love them
Reply:Don't worry about it.

At all.

Ever.

That was my approach and eventually I stopped getting all that useless junk I didn't need or want, didn't care for, and soon lost.

She DID get me a bottle of Wild Turkey for my birthday once and that was greatly appreciated, but really ladies, guys buy the things they need when they need them and really don't want to be encumbered with useless knick-knacks whose only value is sentimental.
Reply:Well, basic and ait, both accomplishments, therefore give a gift to say congratulations. deploying, its a farewell gift. coming back, its a welcome home gift.....i look at it as i know i would want those times recognized because those are important times in my life. i give my hubby a gift for every little accomplishment he does, i.e. he just finished his first college class and passed, i bought him a cute bbq apron and bbq utensils for when him and his buddies bbq, just to say good job hunny im proud of you. Not only that, but I know a lot of guys that give flowers for all those reasons you just mentioned also.
Reply:I dunno, because they freakin' care. If you don't want a gift just say so.
Reply:Women are stupid that way, trying to get insight into the female mind will only make you stupid too.

Just nod your head and act like they are actually accomplishing something.
Reply:Jeepers: I have many sisters and have learned a LOT about women over the years. The most important thing I've learned is that it's impossible to understand them. They don't even understand themselves.
Reply:i know i like to get things for my solider husband because i love him so much and he is my life and my hero plus women like to shop when stressed and heck why not buy a gift for there solider i do it allot i think it helps me cope with him being away allot and it makes him feel appreciated and he knows that i am always thinking about him

we just like to show we care and to let them know we are there for them and cheering them on its a major thing and a very accomplished thing to be a solider

sometimes i don't buy gifts but make home made ones to keep me busy and creativity is best when it comes from the heart as well
Reply:Women are giving that's why. We like to nurture and be loved.
Reply:Ever heard the expression "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth'?

Is it the gifts that bother you or the feeling that you have to reciprocate? I know for myself I enjoy showing my appreciation for my man with a gift now and then whether it's a thing or an action. Sometimes it's a six pack of his favorite beer if it sounds like he's had a rough day and needs to unwind. We do it because it makes us feel good to show we think about you and love you. And a gift should always be given with no strings attached otherwise it's not a gift it's a bribe.
Reply:Military wives lack intelligence. Why would any woman date a man in the military let alone marry one. She obviously is very desperate to spend the majority of her life waiting for a man to get home.

Military men aren't very smart either. They shouldn't be allowed to marry until they get out. 4 years or career. It doesn't matter.

What are some environmentally friendly ways to wrap gifts this holiday season?

I considered wrapping gifts in used newspaper but I would like to do something a little more classy. Is there any bio-degradable wrapping paper that I can buy somewhere? Please provide all ideas. Save the Planet!

What are some environmentally friendly ways to wrap gifts this holiday season?
I second Dali333's response -- brown paper grocery bags with raffia are a lovely way to go green and wrap your gifts beautifully! I did it one year and decorated the grocery bags first with a snowflake and star stamper in gold and silver ink. I got many compliments!

Another idea could be to use magazine pages -- a girlfriend of mine did that for me once, and it was adorable! Of course, it works better if you're wrapping something small ;-)

Good luck!
Reply:You could also use the comic section from the Sunday paper they're mostly in color, and definitely recyclable
Reply:you can use paper grocery bags as wrap, and tie bows with raffia. its actually quite lovely :)

What christmas gifts can i give to my friends without spending too much money?

i wanna give my friends some presents but i always spend too much on them, this year i wanna give them something nice but not spend too much money, like maybe under $35. and i giving 10 friends gifts this year, help!!

What christmas gifts can i give to my friends without spending too much money?
Since your budget seems willing to spend a little. Here is a great idea. Since you have created your list. Look in your photo albums and find your favorite (nice) picture of you and your friend (each of them or you all as a group). Go have copies made and buy frames for them. Take the time to hand write out what made you pick that friend and that picture. It will make the reciever appreciate your friendship knowing that you think the world of them. Put the nice picture in a box and wrap it up with bows and ribbon. It will be a unique gift. Or you could scrapbook them a page and frame it of your fav. times together. Good luck and Merry Christmas
Reply:why dont you just send them a card and then tell them that youve given them your time which can never be bought anywhere else! cheesy huh?! but i think thatll be cute! hehehehe!
Reply:A great gift to give is a gift certificate for a manicure or pedicure $20 or a little less and almost all girls love them, now for the guys get the comedy or action DVDs include gift receipts in case they already have the movie or a movie card you buy them at the movie theater I think you can put any amount you want on them.
Reply:WELL IT KINDA DEPENDS ON HOW OLD YOU ARE. IF YOUR IN LIKE JUNIOR HIGH YOU COULD DO 2 LITER SODA POPS AND PUT A CUTE BOW ON THE TOP. BUT IF YOUR ALOT OLDER THAN THAT YOU COULD DO LIKE CUTE MUGS WITH SOME HOT CHOCOLATE PACKETS INSIDE WITH SOME MARSHMELLOWS. PEOPLE LIKE STUFF LIKE THAT. GOOD LUCK!!
Reply:I got these last year and have been giving them on various occasions all year.

They are always a hit

Hope this helps
Reply:Well I myself is on a budget also, I found that burned or homemade CDS, DVDs are always good! There are alot of cheap video games if they like that, or even $10 gift certificates from different stores and places.
Reply:Years ago, when I was in nursing school and raising a baby, alone, I had NO MONEY for gifts one Christmas. I finally came up with an idea that they all appreciated. I gave each an envelope reminding them that times were lean for me, so I was giving them this special gift. To my Aunts and Uncles with small children, I gave free babysitting for a week-end. To my mother, I gave a complete cleaning of her bathrooms and bedrooms, including window. To my Dad, I gave mowing his lawn, ONCE, and letting him have "first choice", whenever my mother cooked fried chicken for a year. They all loved their gifts and it was a Christmas we all will never forget.
Reply:try the gift cards it's simple without a big headache
Reply:I would go to a dollar store and buy 10 baskets for $1.00=$10.00. Then I would put things in there that I know they would like since they are all into different things. Buy some cellophane paper and wrap with a beautiful bow. They can later use the basket for stuff.

Example: 1.Glamour girl- put makeup items, lipstick, eyeshadow, makeup sponges, etc.

2. Hair girl- barettes, hair gel, nice brush, etc.

3. Nail girl- heating lamp, nail polish, emory board, etc.

4. Baking girl- towels, pot holders, rolling pen, cookie cutter

5. Body girl- lotions, bath gels, bath salts, a loomfa sponge.

6. Party girl- liquor bottle, flask, peanuts, a nice glass, etc.

7. Serious girl- good book, crossword puzzles, nice pen set.

8. Healthy girl- tea cup, several different boxes of tea, some cookies.

9. religious girl- an angel brooch, a scarf for church, maybe a cross book marker, a guardian angel car pin.

10. Movie girl- a movie dvd, gift certificate to the movies, popcorn bags, sodas...

or you can give them each a gift certificate to their favorite restaraunt and give it to them in a nice Christmas card.
Reply:Give them homemade coupon books...like one coupon is good for a room cleaning or babysitting, etc.
Reply:what i give to my friends without spending so much money is a CD or DVD. if you really know what they like, and it is expensive, try finding something related to that topic. for example, if she wants a ipod, get her a CD of her faviored band or something like that.
Reply:This year I went to a craft store and bought a make-your-own-earrings kit for $7. It had all the supplies and directions to make 7 pairs of beaded chandalier type earrings. All I needed was a pair of needle nose pliers, which I borrowed. Sounds really cheap in a too good to be true kind of way, but they came out really cute and I almost wanted to keep them for myself. Happy holidays!
Reply:a nice candle and ornament are perfect gifts for friends
Reply:To save you all some money...get all your friends together and pull names out of a bag. This way you all only by one gift. You all get together again to exchange the gifts at the same time and make a party out of it. You can raise the cost of the gift to say..$50.00 and everybody has a Merry Christmas!
Reply:Personally gifts that were made by the giver have always meant the most to me.

I still have a painting my Nephew made me hanging in my hallway.

Some may have seen better, but it's a masterpiece to me.
Reply:why not make them cookie mix in a jar you can find great recipes at allrecipes.com decorate the lid put a ribbon around it and attach a cookie cutter. if this isn't you then take them all to lunch and just spend an afternoon together.
Reply:Every year I give my co-workers some mini stockings, about the size of your hand. You can buy a bunch for $1 each at Walgreen's or Target. Then buy some bags of different kinds of candy that they like, like Hershy's kisses and small candy canes and gumdrops, and stuff the stockings. Sometimes I can find thumb-sized knicknacks like little nutcrackers for $1.50 each. Then I give the stockings to everyone.

Always a hit!

What small gifts can I take to Korea from England?

I am visiting South Korea in a couple of weeks and would like to take some small traditional style gifts from England to give to friends and families we share meals with. They can't cost too much as we have quite a few people to give them to.

What small gifts can I take to Korea from England?
I come from England, but my husband is Korean. At Christmas, I got his friends miniature whiskey cakes, which they really liked (probably more Scottish oriented but they really liked it) Also Shortbread, again Scottish but they like it. You could try taking a boxed tea like Twinings.
Reply:It depends on how well-travelled or well-heeled they are.

I would suggest anything with English writing on it. Small pots of jam from your village or the like always go down a storm.

Hope it helps

How many people have heard of registering for gifts for an apartment warming?

My friend is having one and I am shocked at the items she has put on her list. She invited 44 people and is not even having it AT the apartment. So we are going to another friends house basically to give her gifts. I feel this is the rudest thing ever! No one furnished my first place. She has also turned down freebies but yet wants me to buy new stuff for her.

How many people have heard of registering for gifts for an apartment warming?
WHAT?? This is incredibly rude and tacky!!! If I were you, I wouldn't go. That is appalling.
Reply:That is a new one for me! LOL

Absolutely laughable.

House warming with food and good friends is one thing but REGISTERING for gifts. HA! In her DREAMS.
Reply:I agree enthusiastically with the other answerers on this one: RUDE AND TACKY. And, how can you even have an "apartment warming party" at someone ELSE'S place? Isn't the whole point to welcome all your friend to your new digs?
Reply:Only if she registered for a hair crimper, acid washed jeans and a bedazzler. RUDE and trashy!
Reply:Is she buying or renting?

It doesn't matter... that's crazy. If you have a house warming party, you accept the gifts people show up with, if they choose to show up with gifts. Don't be greedy.
Reply:No. You register for weddings and baby showers. Nothing else. If someone brings you a house-warming gift, that is very gracious of them, but it's rude to expect people to buy what you want them to buy.
Reply:House warmings are meant for the FIRST NEW HOME people buy, not an apartment. I can't believe people are actually attending. I would say something, but that's just me. Miss Manners would faint if she heard this. Don't go, I wouldn't.
Reply:Definitely sit this party out! Anyone willing to go to this "party" is only going because they either feel obligated to go and give a present or they want to go and give a present.

Either way, your friend is treating her lease-signing like an event equal to a wedding shower and it would be laughable if it wasn't so offensively mercenary.
Reply:As old as I am I have never ever heard of anybody registering for gifts for a house warming party.

I have heard of people having house warming parties whereby some friends might bring a bottle of booze along, but never a gift.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Your friend is very rude in that she expects people to buy gifts for her new home. If she can't afford to furnish it then she can't afford to rent/buy it either.

Ah so, she doesn't want freebies hey... I take that to mean second hand goods... well that is just tough.

I have always had to furnish my own property, even when I first started out living alone. As a single-parent I have to manage. Many people do. They don't expect 'hand outs' in life.

You are NOT a charity. Buy her something small and affordable if you want to, but do so because you genuinely want to give from your heart, and not simply because your friend has produced a list of items she wants and expects others to buy for her.

Blessings x
Reply:LOL how hilariously rude of her! Go to the party if you want but tell her you haven't found the right gift for her yet.

I presume you'd just never find that gift EVER.

LOL what a selfish fruitcake of a friend!

GIFTs.......?

do u become uncomfortable when u recieve gifts? i do

and what do u do when it's christmas or an annaversery etc, and ur present is so much crapper than what they gave u, how awkward is this!

GIFTs.......?
then stop being cheap, and spend some money
Reply:sometimes giving is more important than receiving gifts. Cause you know what you like or what you need and to receive a gift that you don't like it pretty awful
Reply:u dont deserve them
Reply:I used to. Until I found out it far better to give than recieve. Accept someone's gift with great appreciation, they will reap what they sow in due time. As far as the awkwardness as to whose present is craperer, don't sweat it...chill. You will do better next time. After all, it's the old saying....It's the thought that counts.
Reply:u r a selfish person and no one shouldn't give u nothing

Reply:I feel so happy if I got a gift ..

and no matter how much the gift worth .. the only thing that matter to me it that the person who send it ..

and its good for me that he remembered me .. and send me a gift ..
Reply:Gifts are a beautiful way to show someone you care about them - and being gracious about receiving a gift is KEY. When people go out of their way for you, be grateful, and always go out of your way for someone.

How do I buy a lot of Christmas gifts with little money?

I love buying people gifts for Christmas! I'm a college student so that means that my funds are low! I would like to get my boyfriend a lot because he spends a lot of money on me but, I dont want to spend "a lot" of money. How do I work this out?

How do I buy a lot of Christmas gifts with little money?
Think thoughtful gifts rather than expensive ....notice the little things he might need.

I remember getting my ex one of those bath robes that only goes around the mans waist ( sought of like a big towel with Velcro) He loved it for many years and it was CHEAP !

Do you have any craft skills??? How about making him something ... Can I suggest a no sew fleece blanket or pillow ???There really cute, warm and you can buy the fleece cheaply at Walmart. here some instructions http://www.howtoadvice.com/Preview/Vuhwj...

he res one with pictures http://www.womenbygrace.com/home006.html

How about a nice picture frame with a nice picture of you two...

You can get creative and make him up some "coupons" they could be for love , snuggles, or a home cooked meal.

how about making him a nice tin of homemade chocolate chip cookies?
Reply:box of rubbers can always give
Reply:That's a tough one. Yeah, you think "Theme Baskets!" or homemade gifts! But once you assemble enough stuff to make it look nice and like something someone would want, you find you've spent more money in the making than you planned to.

Maybe try layering gifts. Example: wrap the smallest present like a small package of chocolate, then insert it into the next gift - a pair of socks - then wrap the socks and place them inside a knitted cap - then wrap the cap and place it inside a shirt- then wrap the shirt and place it inside a jacket - then put the jacket in a box and wrap it.
Reply:Dollar Tree. Also Big Lots has alot home pretty home decor for low prices. the 5.50 dvd bin at Walmart. the video game section at the pawn shop,

But , do you have a local Asian Market in your town that sells Japanese Swords and such. ? Men like stuff like that . You can find lots of nice things in the asain market for less than $ 50.
Reply:Make him something that will have meaning for him. Use some pictures of the two of you and make a collage or small scrapbook or memory book.

If you have one of those ceramics places nearby you can go and buy a piece and they provide the paints and firing and everything. They can get expensive, you just have to look carefully at prices, but you can make something really fun and unique.

Make a coupon book for things like kids do but give them a grown up twist: one night of massage, or something that he REALLY REALLY likes.

Print pictures from your computer onto iron transfer paper and you can use it for a bunch of different things like t-shirts, pillowcases, a quilt or lap blanket, etc.

Take sexy pictures of yourself or have someone you trust do it, as revealing as you're comfortable with, and give them to him, either in frames or a book. Just make sure it's nothing you'll regret later.

Magazine subscriptions can be inexpensive. You could also make him a special dinner and make him King for a Day. Clean his apartment. Make him a bunch of dinners and freeze them so he doesn't have to cook, or some specialty like chocolate covered pretzels.

Have fun with it!
Reply:Go to the Dollar Store, they have hundres of great things you can combine together to make great gifts.
Reply:Lots of good stuff at Salvation Army %26amp; Goodwill. New stuff, or at least new LOOKING stuff.

Guys aren't too freaky about gifts. Get a fruitcake tin %26amp; make his favorite cookies. (If you don't know, try sugar cookies with walnuts or M%26amp;Ms)
Reply:Be creative. Make gifts, cards or even coupons for him redeem later for a backrub, a bj, a picnic lunch, or a foot massage for example....whatever he may like or that you can think of. it Doesn't really cost anything and it goes a long way because it came from your heart and not in a box. Good luck.

Can spiritual gifts they talk about in the Bible actually be received?

I'm a Christian and if your just here to bash it then leave. I was just wanting to know if gifts, like speaking in tongues, are real.

Can spiritual gifts they talk about in the Bible actually be received?
Yes they can, but you want to wait until God gives you the real thing. There is a lot out there in Charis-mania and some is real and some is false you just have to discern for yourself if it is real.

As far as tongues goes, don't listen to naysayers. The Acts 2 account in my opionion was a known language BUT (God can be as diverse as he wants with what he does) I will just give you a couple of scriptures and let you decide:

A second type of Biblical tongues (prayer language?)

1 Cor 14:2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, NO ONE UNDERSTANDS HIM; he utters mysteries with his spirit.

A third type of Biblical Tongues (probably public)

1 Cor 12:10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.
Reply:Tongues are for a sign to them that BELIEVE NOT; prophesying for them which believe (1 Cor.14:22 below).

God is not the author of confusion (1 Cor.14:33 below).

When the Scriptures (Acts 2:3-11) speak of “tongues”, “tongues” refers to “languages”

1 Cor.14:22 Wherefore tongues (languages – Acts 2:4, 6) are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying [serveth] not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

1 Cor.14:33 For God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

What is the best gifts for teachers, teachers aides, and a bus driver?

I am just wondering what be the best Christmas gift for my daughter's teachers and etc. I dont want to spend too much on everyone. Yet I want them to be nice gifts.

What is the best gifts for teachers, teachers aides, and a bus driver?
A Christmas mug filled with candy.

A package of pencils and pens in different colors and patterns.

A hand-made Christmas ornament.

A gift card for a movie, dinner, coffee.

A mug and several types of tea bags.

A pin with either a Christmas theme or a winter theme.
Reply:I think homemade gifts are the best - especially if your daughter helps to make them. I used to make homemade ornaments for teachers when I was little. You can get clear glass bulbs, open up the top and add drops of paint. Then roll the bulb around to swirl the paint. After it dries, use a metallic paint marker to write a Christmas message on the outside.

You can also make homemade cookies and put them in decorative tins. Or, you can fill bags with ingrediants to make soup, cookies, hot chocolate, etc.
Reply:gift cards, box of chocolates, nice cup with candy.
Reply:Homemade gifts or gifts with a purpose would be best. Things that have absolutely no purpose end up just sitting around, and most teachers already have plenty of clutter. Get something that can be used, consumed, or spent.
Reply:No more #1 teacher mugs! I love useful gifts like packs of note cards ( to write thank you notes for all the Christmas presents) and fun stationary, colorful pens, stamps....
