What kind of gifts should I bring to the Philippines?

I would like to bring small gifts for the children and nicer gifts for my adult family members. Also something for the priest.

What kind of gifts should I bring to the Philippines?
you give them gifts which are unique in the place where you will be coming from.
Reply:Well it depends on the level of class you giving to... you wouldn't be handing toiletries to someone well to do, would you?

I would suggest chocolates for the kids, especially the name brands: Hershey's, Mars, Cadbury, Toberone, etc.

Adults: Finer chocolates, like toberone, would do well. Imported liquors, nifty gadgets (mp3 players, digital cameras, dvds, etc.)

For priest: I would just give a donation to the Church.
Reply:natives like weaved basket, old navy shirts make sure in made in the philippines
Reply:anything but food, soap or toothpaste.

there is nothing more annoying than receiving relief goods from abroad.

t-shirts would be better. it's not so heavy and expensive. chocolates and perfume for the special lady.

or just take them duty free shopping so they would have to choose what they like.
Reply:Chocolates for the kids, perfume and shirts or shoes for the adults and probably a mid price grape wine for the priest...
Reply:Chocolates and a lot of "imported" stuff that can't be bought in the local Philippine market. There are a lot of cool boardgames for both kids and adults. There are Guesstures, Taboo, Cranium , Scattegories etc. You could search online. If you're coming from Italy or Rome or anywhere in Europe, maybe you could look for a very unique kind of rosary for your priest like the one made from real rose petals. Anyway, in the end, Pinoys love any kind of pasalubong. So whatever it is, i think they will still love it.
Reply:For kids you ca never go wrong with chocolates, toys and clothes including shoes.

For adults, clothes, chocolate, handbags, and perfume/cologne is the best.

My mom always gets these gifts for my family and to see how happy they are to get it is just priceless.

=)
Reply:If there's something that kids always like that you can never EVER go wrong on... it's gotta be MONEY.

Crisp-new, right off the printing press Philippine currency.

Especially if the note you're giving is yellow and has a fella on it with his fist against his chin.
Reply:Bring them items that are unique to the place that where you are coming from.
Reply:when i went i brought candy and chcolate. i also brought some jewelry and watches. some nice little trinkets and small item are always easy to give. small purses and fans are great. boys like basketball cards too. cds, mp3 player, and electronics are great gifts.
Reply:Chocolates, cookies for the children, then cigarettes, soaps, shampoos for the adults, and perfume for the priest.
Reply:chocolates, souvenir items like key chains , etc whatever gifts if it's heartily given gives joy to your family
Reply:your self is the greatest gift you can give..

coming home and visiting them is the best gift they can receive.
Reply:Chocolates. You could never go wrong.
Reply:suggest you don't bring bulky gifts, so easier---chocolates, perfumes, foodstuffs, ipod, whatever your place is known for, etc.

enjoy your Phil trip!
