Parents, what are some gifts that I could give to my childs preschool?

My son's preschool requested no gifts for the teachers but that we could bring gifts for the classroom that would benefit our children (books, learning material, etc). I was thinking maybe some art supplies? Any other suggestions?

Parents, what are some gifts that I could give to my childs preschool?
Books, books, books,

Paper products like, paper plates, napkins, tissues, paper towels.

my son's pre-school is always running out of these items!
Reply:most preschools have a wishlist of things that they'd love to have for their classrooms. i'd ask the director or the teacher -- if there's no such thing, i'd suggest they put one together. (of course, if there's something you have your heart set on giving, by all means get it. but if you don't have anything in mind, why not get them something they actually want?)
Reply:Board games, books, any learning toy like a cash register, etc. Go to a teacher's supply store they have lots of neat stuff.
Reply:Dressing up outfit?
Reply:Take one of the group photos your child took at school and send it to http://www.paintyourlife.com for their professional artists to make a unique portrait out of. The same company also has a studio for oil paintings reproductions. So, next time you are looking for an affordable gift urgently, you can take a look at their 'stock on sale'. Visit http://www.oil-paintings-reproductions.c...
Reply:Those writing tablets that help them learn to write letters would be good, maybe some Dr. Suess books kids love those books, art supplies would be a plus for the students and the teachers because they are always running out of that kind of stuff in the middle of the year.
Reply:Too funny that I should come across this. I run a preschool and was just thinking about this today. I would love someone to bring me extra supplies that get so costly ie. paper (typing, construction, tissue, think about what your child has used a lot of in his/her projects. Also things like markers, crayons, colored pencils. Sometimes you can get entire projects that are very helpful to a preschool for instance, a set of foam book markers that the kids decorate with other foam pieces, a picture of themselves or stickers . Think of something you would love for the preschool to have access to when your child is there. A special book or toy. There are always the supplies that we go through like crazy such as Kleenex, Clorox wipes, air fresheners etc. I know it may sound like silly ideas but I would be thrilled if someone gave them to me. One last idea and I don't know how much you wanted to spend but how about a camera? or gift certificate for devoloping pictures? Hope some of these help.
