I've discovered my gifts, skills, and abilites. How do I decide what to do with them?

I've done much contemplating and thinking about who I am, my values, skills, gifts, and abilities. The things I do well are: reading, writing, drawing, painting, researching, tutoring, crafts, decorating, cooking, cleaning, organizing, and creating things. I have a passion for psychology, social work, education, and helping people reach their goals, and I do my best with each student I work with. Since I have access to these types of abilities, how can I use all of them to the utmost in my life?

I've discovered my gifts, skills, and abilites. How do I decide what to do with them?
So you don't indicate your age, whether you have a degree already (and if so what the degree is in, etc). If you don't have a degree this is where I would start. It sounds like you might want to take a psychology, social work and education course and talk to students and faculty in these areas. If possible I would also try to do some sort of internship (maybe in a school that has a psychologist and social worker). See which of the three fields really fits for you. Each is related but VERY different. The social work degree and education degree's will be the most practical in terms of leading to employment. DA
Reply:Sounds like you'd be a good teacher, if you aren't already. You might also be good in a daycare. Those are all great skills and it would be a shame for any of them to go to waste, so even if they aren't being utilized in whatever occupation in which you find yourself, try to keep them honed with hobbies such as art or journaling!

And if you like to cook and clean, and you're good at tutoring, can I hire you to teach me? hahaha
Reply:Bhakti Yoga is the proces of offering all of ones talents, gifts, abilities in the highest way possible to get the most benefit of one abilities and life. This process Also known as self realization, sanatan dharma, or Krishna,Consciousness, is how to do everything as a loving service to our creator and in this way we get no bad karma for our activities. We get the highest benefit and all .

This material world is not our real home, it is called Maya (illusion) and is temporary and full of misery, only one fourth of the souls come here, and the rest are enjoying blissful eternal loving relationships with our Maker named above. The intelligent persons take up this process of Bhakti Yoga and at the end of life they are qualified to enter into the eternal kingdom where their is no more suffering. I love this process

For info. Go to harekrishnatemple.com Read Bhagavad Gita- As it is by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada asitis.com you can read it on line.

Reply:Impressive. No kidding.

But i think the most valuable thing you could do would be to help other people ID their gifts, skills, and abilities. Most people are really in the dark about that - and there isn't any natural place oout there for them to ask for a tutor in learning about themselves.
Reply:you could be a Psychology teacher at a school or be a guidance counselor.
Reply:Work on one thing at a time. Obviously you can't do it all at once. So either schedule some time to balance a couple different projects. Then when you are done with one thing move on to the next to get the full benefit of your abilities.
Reply:We actually seem to share a lot of things in common (though I don't like cleaning, decorating or painting and I would throw math and a couple other things in there instead). I chose to become a Psychology instructor. I teach Intro, Stats and Research (trying to get a Social class). It served as a perfect fit for me, I'm very happy, my students are learning a lot and always give me fantastic reviews. Along the way I considered being a math teacher, an animator, a therapist, a video game designer, etc. But I couldn't be happier with my choice and I would DEFINTELY suggest this to you as well. Teaching can make such a huge difference in the world, and seeing people go from struggling to understanding is a VERY rewarding experience. But I have one important word of advice. DO NOT utlize ALL of your skills in a single job. It is important that you have something, preferably artistic, that you do NOT do in your job. It needs to be something that you do for fun and for fun ONLY.

Plus hidden skills like my drawing and cooking abilities impress people and make me stand-out. They are also a good way to make you feel good when something else is stressful.
Reply:You sound like a teacher, if your artistic maybe even an art teacher. You could also do something in the fashion and interior design field.
