How can I make a emergency disaster kit? I am looking to give small kits as gifts. Maybe $15 total. Any Ideas?

I know $15 isn't alot but, they can add to it, I just want to do them as family gifts for the holidays.

Check out the website 72hours.org for ideas. Good starter gifts could be flashlight, basic first aid kit for the GO BAG and even a good mulit-purpose tool. Freebies could be printed copies of what they need in a small binder, local maps are sometimes provided by the city or county and pamphlets on first aid training and cpr could be added. You could also do a list of local emergency numbers and radio staions and put that in a small binder.
