What to get my one year old as birthday gifts?

My son is turning 1 on Dec. 13th and so confused on what to buy. What are some useful gifts to give a 1 year old? Any suggestions?

What to get my one year old as birthday gifts?
Start the day with a big box. Go to a local store. They are usually more than willing to give them out. My brother in law got my son one to play in on his birthday. Kept him busy for literally hours. As for presents, I really suggest to everyone to get the foam letter mats. Get the larger 12 in by 12 in ones. They are tougher for them to get into their mouths and bite pieces off. Legos are wonderful. Or tinker toys, Lincoln Logs. Something where they can build. They love to stack things. Musical instruments. ooh the fun of drums!! Another neat brand is Pop-Ons

We got my son a Step 2 Pack and Go. We had to have it shipped from Chicago for much cheaper than we could buy anywhere near us. It was hard to find. Has a pull out drawer under to hold al snacks and drinks. (the newer model is call the cross country cargo wagon).

My son got all these items from various people for his 1st birthday and still has them all. He will be 3 on Dec 9.
Reply:How about a personalized book? You can read it to him, and he will love to hear his name in the story... Go to this website http://www.tlc-expressions.com they have really cute titles like Sesame Street, Spider-Man, Batman, Noah's Ark and many more. My kids love their personalized books! Check it out...
Reply:Wooden toys that last forever. That way you can give it to him to give to his child in the future.
Reply:how about a ride on toy? my kids loved those @ that age!!!!

books that make noise, baby dolls, building blocks....

go here, they have toys suitable for all ages, just click the age range of 1! hope this helps!

Reply:You can give your son a good colorful toy that he would enjoy and learn from. Like a xylophone, or something that moves or talks (like tickle-me-Elmo).
Reply:Just go to the toy store and buy him a colorful things to play with.At that age, they like bright colors, they like musical toys and small, safe pieces that they can grab on.Watch your child and see what's amusing for him.
Reply:Just get him some toys and clothes. He won't really remember it and babies that age are fascinated by new things.
Reply:They like string.
Reply:If he isn't walking yet, one of those Fisher Price things that has the activities on the front and they can push around.

A ride on toy or rocking horse are nice also.

Don't feel bad, he probably won't be really into it.

We got my daughter phone toys also. Now that she is turning two I almost don't want to buy her anything, because everyone else buys her so much stuff.
Reply:wrapping paper bows and empty boxes at this age they aren't really interested in actual presents
Reply:Start a Savings Account for him :0) and then get him a fun toy (that doesn't make annoying noises, lol). He really isn't going to remember this Birthday, so don't stress yourself out over it.
Reply:picture books. toys
Reply:anything that comes in a box, or just a box. You can buy the best gift out there and a baby will just play with the box, it's really quite frustrating.
