What gifts are given to a student graduating high school?

Traditional gifts given to grandchildren by a grandparent after their high school graduation ceremony. Nothing too expensive.

A token of recognizion for their success. Something that says we're proud of your accomplishments.

What gifts are given to a student graduating high school?
a car
Reply:A car, their passport, and lots of cash. That's what they generally want. Maybe electronics. Like a MP3 player, laptop, game consuls.
Reply:My grandmother handed down my great-grandmother's wrist watch. My grandmother on the other side crocheted me an afghan. My grandfather made me a cedar hope chest (of course, he was a carpenter). My step-grandmother gave me a Bible with my name engraved on the front. My point is, they gave me things that had personal meaning and that I would treasure forever. These are the gifts that stick in my mind. . . I can't even remember the things I got from everybody else, and the money only lasted as long as my senior trip that year.
Reply:You could buy him something useful that he would use daily. like a money clip. I found some great ones that I could personalize on http://mymoneyclips.com/gold-money-clips... and when your grandson is older it is something that would never be viewed as juvenile but more classic.
Reply:a special book? something that they could keep forever..=).. idk thats what i would want and im in high school. i wouldn't want a mp3 or something from my grandparents..i would feel bad cus they spent so much money
Reply:Gift Cards. Balloons. Flowers. Bears?
Reply:a watch or a nice pen and pencil set. I got stationary set and a book of fmailar quotes.
Reply:A nice pen, or watch, or jewelry (for a girl)? It's more the thought than anything. Or pass down one of the above that you've had since you were young.
Reply:watches (you can never go wrong)

heirloom (something special)

money (if you grandchild is going to collage it might be what they need)
Reply:Congratulations on your grandchild's success! Here are some ideas: A really nice keepsake frame for their diploma, or a photo frame for their graduation/Senior photo, could be personalized with engraving of their name and graduation date. If they are going to college, then a gift certificate to a stationery/office supply or bookstore, or even to the college's bookstore. This is a bit old fashioned, but possibly a savings bond for their future? Students can always use cash or a pre-paid debit card for use at the place of their choice.
Reply:its not all that fancy but a dictionary seems to be a good gift for graduation
