I am making spice mixes to give away as gifts?

I am making spice mixes to give away as gifts at our next animal rights demonstration. I already bought some real nice jars with little ribons and I just need to come up with some different ideas. I am thinking of making chinese 5 spice since I have everything to make that. Any ideas?

Also, any I have left over, I am going to donate to the homeless shelter so they can put it on the tables in little shakers for the homeless people to use in their soups and stuff.

I am making spice mixes to give away as gifts?
I was just going to ignore this question but seeing as you tried to patronize me AGAIN in my last question I may as well tell you how I feel.

You are all show Ashley. Seems to me like you're fishing for compliments here. Not only have you already asked this question but you've chosen to add the little snippet about you feeding the homeless now. Was that really necessary? Do you really need to tell the whole world you're doing something charitable just to feel better about yourself?

I hate it when people are 'charitable' and then try to gain from it. Real charity would be keeping it to yourself and doing it without the need of praise from others. Yet another example where you need to learn to be more humble.

EDIT: Thank you for your pity. If you think I have no point can I just ask you... why did you write about feeding the homeless? What was your reasoning? I'd love to know
Reply:Nice idea about the spice mixes. My man absolutely loves Italian food, so I use a LOT of oregano and basil in my cooking...maybe you could try that combo? What's nice about those two, too, is that if you go to a store where they sell herbs in bulk, basil and oregano are usually not too pricy.
Reply:there are some copies of Emrils spice mixes online and you could make one up yourself and put your name to it. My friend did it and it was good. think of different kinds of foods like Mexican, Thia, etc... then take the spices from those cultures and blend them. Also a new popular one is Chia use your imagination. Let it run wild.
Reply:Wow! what a great cause your contributing to...

Maybe try some different spices from other cultures. I like your idea with the chinese spices. how about trying Thai, Indian, Italian and Hispanic?

Good luck and Kudos to you for being so giving and creative.
Reply:you are very kind, I could not imagine finding the time to do that, I hope your friends appreciate the effort
Reply:well use nutmeg and cinnamon

ginger with lemon grass

but if you are giving them away let me have some i love spices let me know i will give you my address
Reply:How about a chili spice mix? Chili powder, garlic and onion powder and some red pepper flakes. I always add a little cocoa powder to my chili so you could add some of that too. You could string a little dried red pepper on some raffia and use that instead of a ribbon. Good luck!
Reply:Can you be any more fake.

LoL this is not hateful but truthful something you know little about

Reply:Okay, my mom used to make seasoned salt when I was young, and that was what we gave to our teachers for Christmas presents. Try www.recipesource.com for the recipe.

No offense Ashley, but giving the homeless shelters Chinese 5 spice may not be the best of ideas, not sure most people would like to put that in their soups.
