What is the proper time after graduation to send thank you cards for gifts?

I will be graduating from college in 2 weeks. (YEA!!!) I have received some beautiful gifts from friends and family and wondered when the proper time would be to send a thank you card for the gift?

What is the proper time after graduation to send thank you cards for gifts?
generally speaking, you should send the thank you card out within a week or so of receiving the gift. That lets the sender know that you have received what they sent to you and also speaks well of your manners.

however, if you are a bit late in sending them, remember the most important thing is that you DO express thanks for what has been given to you in a timely fashion as your circumstances dictate.

Congratulations upon your graduation.
Reply:proper manners (etiquette) dictates that YOU send out your thank you cards immediately!

whatever the occassion maybe! it doesn't matter that its a graduation, baby shower, wedding, bar mitzvah, etc... Report It

Reply:Congrats to you! Great question. The answer is: Send a thank you note as soon as you can after receiving a gift. So, if you have been given gifts and graduation day is not here yet, go ahead and send the note if you can get the time to do so. It is important to send the notes of gratitude as soon as you can. This is to show others how special the thoughtful gift or gesture was to you. If you wait too long, then they will start to think that maybe you did not like the gift or you are not being appreciative. It is best to send a Thank You note in the following two weeks after receiving a gift. The longer you wait, the harder it is to take the effort to write and send it.
Reply:Congratulations! You should send those thank you's out ASAP. Make it a priority. It lets the person know that you appreciate them taking the time out of their lives to think of a thoughtful gift for you. It would be so rude of you not to acknowledge their gifts in a timely fashion.
Reply:there's no expected/set time for grad thank you cards unlike wedding thank you's so pretty much just whenever you want
Reply:Sooner is better than later, and later is better than never.
Reply:try to send them out right away, within a week or so, that way its not always hanging over you and you wont forget.
Reply:as soon as you receive the gift and make a list so you know who you sent one to, do it before you forget!
Reply:As soon as possible!
